[CHARACTER]
Name: Charles Francis Xavier
Codename: none
Age: 20
Character Base: Professor X

Appearance: Despite his very distinctive lack of hair, Charles Xavier is a young man. For someone without an overt physical bearing (rather slim of build and not unusually tall), he has a very strong presence, the way that only the wealthy, intelligent and telepathic are. He's very casual in conversation and relaxed in bearing, though his mind is locked up tight and there's a certain nerdish stand-offishness to him socially. Dressing in open-necked shirts, slacks and nothing less formal that a J. Crew catalog, Charles isn't a formal guy. Charles Xavier is a man of contradictions.
PB: Michael Rosenbaum

Home Reality: Earth 161 - The Generation Gap

Driven to secrecy, mutants were as commonly known as the Amazing Colossal Man and the Attack of the 50 Foot woman, pure science fiction. IN reality, they lived among every day people, hiding their mutant gifts and working in secret societies. Two individuals knew that a rising global population would eventually lead to a genetic shift, revealing mutants to the public. In cooperation with the Hellfire Club, Monet St. Croix and David Haller put together a private facility to teach the next generation of mutants.

What did this person do wrong to be pulled out by the Timebroker?
Charles Xavier didn't have the strength to lead. At graduation, he chose to attend Cambridge and, while he was getting a degree, a war was raging. Mutants were announced publicly as a menace and relations between the two species exploded. Believing that he could catch up intellectually to the mutant/human divide, the legacy left by his elders came crashing down around him.

Powers / Skills
Charles Xavier is quite possibly the strongest telepathic presence ever recorded. He's the Anakin Skywalker of his Jedi Generation. He has trained at the Malden Institute with David Haller and others to grant him a solid basis for controlling his powers and using them responsibility. Telepathy includes such highlights as manipulating a crowd to disperse, networking a small group to communicate mind to mind, to astrally project, to sense mental signatures, the list goes on.

He is only moderately competent. A far sight better than where his mutant powers first started, he's still a little like directing a 500 lbs. gorilla in seating arrangements. His finesse over a large group requires a great deal of concentration and he's discovering new ways to use his powers every day that have to be harnessed, trained and developed over time.

Weaknesses:
Young: He's 20. Charles is learning as much as he can as fast as he can but at that rate, he'll break. He needs to be young, make mistakes, enjoy himself and grow further so that he can do all the uncanny things his brain comes up with.
Idealistic: Charles wants to talk. He doesn't want to act until he has a clear course of action. He thinks the world will wait and if he can just figure out how it all works, the world will adapt. Charles isn't an action taker and if he doesn't learn how to go on instinct, act instead of react and rise to the call of hero, then his universe is doomed.
No Delegation Skills: He hasn't assembled anything outside of an IKEA coffee table and he was bad at that. In other dimensions, Xavier had gone into the Army and lost the use of his legs, so he was forced to learn how to delegate and organize people to his cause. Charles has a bad habit of trying to fix everything himself at this rate and will need to learn how to not only work as a group, but to lead others to do the same.

Personality:
First Impressions: Charles is very quiet. He smiles like he knows you. His focus can seem a little off center at time, as if he could see an entire world right past your left shoulder. Charles Xavier is a dreamer, a little like John Lennon. It's only a matter of time before people catch on that Charles is very gifted people, creative in his scientific thought and wants more than peace on this Earth. He's easy-going because he's just on the verge of knowing how it all works. Maybe Charles is even a little shy at at times, trying to keep his human distance despite mutant connection. There's a lot of great thought going on behind his very visible scalp.
At Heart: Idealism is the philosophical theory which maintains that the ultimate nature of reality is based on the mind or ideas. Charles can, through psionics, shape the world around him to his thoughts. There could be incredible evil in such a power but, at heart, Charles Xavier is a good man. Naive? Sure. Unprepared? Yes. Self-doubting? Most definitely, but never evil. He cherishes people in a way that not too many people can stomach, especially being able to see inside their heads morning, noon and night.
Deeper Secret: It's because he can know the minds of men that Charles has a lot of fears. He knows not everyone wants the peace he can idealize in his mind and he can be overwhelmed by humanity at its core.
